In an effort to court the tea party protesters, the Republican National Committee is urging its members to send a virtual tea bag via virtual post card to President Barack Obama, Vice President Joe Biden, Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Senator Harry Reid. Read the message the RNC wants you to send to Democrats below:
Dear President Obama,
I do not believe that it is patriotic to pay more taxes. And I do not approve of the $1.4 trillion in new taxes, $636 billion in higher energy taxes, the staggering redistribution of wealth and wasteful spending you are prescribing as a cure for the economic crisis.
To hold the Democrats in Washington accountable for their record tax, spend and borrow schemes, I am sending a virtual tea bag to protest your plans to raise taxes on every American this Tax Day.

It was my understanding that the taxes Americans pay for THIS Tax Day were passed by the Bush Administration, and not Obama. And moreover, it seems odd that the RNC doesn’t think it’s patriotic to pay more taxes. One of our largest expenses is our overseas conflicts – funding our troops seems fairly patriotic to me.
Either way, at least the RNC is sending virtual tea bags instead of real ones that cause congressional offices to be evacuated.

I confess….saw the article about the GOP Tea Party site…and sent virtual cards to all my so-called Senators and the Represenative. They will prob ignore them…as they are all Dems…but it made me feel a little better for doing this…since I can’t attend any actual Tea Parties!
