Three days ago, I noted that RNC Chairman Michael Steele was taking some serious heat on his blog, Steele for RNC Chairman, from the right for his comments about Rush Limbaugh.

Even after he had personally apologized to Limbaugh (the way Randy Marsh ‘apologized’ to Jesse Jackson), users on his blog were demanding he apologize (again), read the Constitution (Limbaugh’s), and resign; calling him yellow, weak-kneed, and spineless — for throwing Limbaugh under the bus on D.L. Hughley’s show.

As of 12:40 AM, the Steele for RNC Chairman blog is linking directly to the RNC’s homepage. One has to wonder if the RNC has taken the site down in response to the attacks being launched there by the conservative base.

I have sent an email to the Office of the Chairman asking if we can expect to see the Steele blog back online again soon. I will post a response when I receive one.

UPDATE (March 7, 2009):

By using the google, I’ve been able to locate a few plethora of blog posts trashing Steele to support my claims. Here are some available screenshots:

UPDATE (March 8, 2009):

The RNC communications team has yet to respond to my emails. What the RNC has done in the meantime is delete the link to Steele’s former blog from the “Blog” drop-down menu on gop.com, which is where I originally found it.

Now, I can’t even access Steele’s ‘Blueprint for Tomorrow‘ which was probably a great read.

The RNC takes down Steele’s means of communicating with the public, still lists Mike Duncan as its chairman, steals Obama’s Marxist graphics, and continues to deride former Sen. Clinton’s spending.

I wish someone at the RNC would tell me what it all means!

In any event, I think I’ve been better to Michael Steele than this NYT profile. It’s pretty harsh.

One of two things may happen:

1. This will spell the end of Steele’s tenure as the RNC Chairman.

2. The right will rush to defend Steele against the onslaught of the liberal media.
