Alas! The question of whether President-elect Barack Obama is a natural born citizen of the United States or not and thus whether he is eligible to become the president has exploded on mainstream media after brewing for months in the blogosphere.

Donofrio v. Wells, has garnered unprecedented attention in the past couple of days as the United States Supreme Court officially takes up the issue of whether to ponder whether Obama can become president in formal discussions today in Washington. After the Berg v. Obama, et. al. case was dismissed, Justice Clarence Thomas distributed the legal papers in Donofrio v. Wells to his court colleagues for legal conference.

CNN reported on these lawsuits, and the video clip posted on their site is the “most popular” today. The LA Times, and the Chicago Tribune are among the many media outlets that reported on this today as well.

Legal experts do not expect the Supreme Court to take the case. More to follow.
