On Tuesday’s “After Hours” coverage, MSNBC played host to former San Francisco Mayor Willie Brown. When asked about his feelings on Sen. Clinton’s narrow win in Indiana, Brown told late night stand-in Dan Abrams that Clinton’s role as the primaries continue is reminiscent of Jesse Jackson’s in 1988.

Heres the quote: “I think she’s still in this. But I also would tell you that her position is probably no different from that of Jesse Jackson of 1988.”

Brown continued on to argue that Clinton’s role, much like Jackson’s was two decades ago, will be confined to negotiating favorable committee assignments at the convention. The former Mayor also made a quip comparing the Clinton campaign’s future to the continuation of Jackson’s campaign, all the way to the convention where it ultimately quit. Brown said, “When we had to go all the way to Atlanta before I was permitted to go up and say we quit, Hillary’s in the same position.”
